The only thing I dislike about Tiger Muay Thai is Leaving

Three years ago, one of my students mentioned training at a camp in Phuket, called Tiger Muay Thai & MMA Training Camp. As I had been looking at taking a group over to Thailand to train, and after looking at their comprehensive website, I thought I would check the place out. Boy am I glad I did.

That first year, we had an amazing time training, sight-seeing , attending fights and meeting some fantastic people including Joey and all the ladies in the front office. We also managed to party a bit, but that definitely came second to all the training we managed to fit in.

The second year, saw our club return to Tiger with an increased number of students. This was predominantly based on the rave reviews we all gave after our trip the year before, but what sealed the deal, was the amount of activities offered by Tiger not only for my students, but their partners and children as well.

The opportunity to train in Muay Thai, BJJ, MMA, Yoga, Cross-training and Boxing meant that there was something for everyone – and I was especially pleased to be able to train with Cat Zingano, which absolutely made my year. Again, we were welcomed with open arms and treated to a fabulous time – so much so, that I managed to stay for a month!

In 2013, we made our third annual trip over to Tiger. A smaller group (due to inevitable weddings, babies, injuries, finances) but again – welcomed with open arms, everyone remembered us and we were exposed to even more opportunities to train with Aussie legends like Brian Ebersole (adopted by us) and Fiona Muxlow.

The only thing I dislike about Tiger? Leaving. If I could bring Joey, Brian, Robert, Dang, Rose, ChokChai and Cheffy (OMG I loooove his food!) home with me to Perth (or if I could move to Phuket) I would be forever happy. The food, the atmosphere, the options, the new friends….all I can say is Thank you to all the crew and I can’t wait for our 4th trip in 2014!

This place is HIGHLY recommended if you are looking for more than just Muay Thai – or you want to keep your partner occupied with yoga, fitness and good food options!
