Home Away From Home

I have learned so much after taking a solo trip to train with Muay Thai trainers who have been competing since the age of 7 and have hundreds of fights under their belt. These trainers are an inspiration to me.

I had only been training Muay Thai for 8 months when I came to Tiger Muay Thai & MMA Training Camp. Before that, I had done 9 months of BJJ, Kickboxing and MMA. I left Sydney with the intention of returning with a stronger body and mind.

Physically, I pushed my self as hard as I could possibly go, focused on improving and taking on board what trainers would say to me.

Mentally, I challenged myself to keep motivated to work hard throughout each session, challenging every muscle in my body.

Tiger has a trainer to suit everyone, each trainer I had the privilege of working with had a different style. The trainers are friendly, passionate and I enjoyed every minute I spent with them.

To each trainer, thank you for all the time taken, patience and encouragement during my time at Tiger. To the boys in the fighters area, I spent many a lunch time watching you train and admiring your skill, you inspire.

Anyone can train at Tiger regardless of their skill level and each person is treated as if they are the most skilled person there.

The staff are welcoming, friendly, accommodating and available at a drop of a hat to assist with anything you may need.

The kitchen staff make amazing food and offer a variety for your taste buds. The training environment is positive, up beat and clean.

There is gear available for purchase and Tiger staff organize great activities for Tiger guests to enjoy on their days off, the beach party was great fun in the sun and what better way to unwind before another hectic week of training.

To all my training partners who influenced me in or out of training sessions, I thank you for making a difference in my life, my skill and my heart. Training with passionate people makes training that much better. To all those who played any role in my time over in the land of the Thai, you made my trip unforgettable.

It is not often that you get to see who someone really is! Never judge a book by its cover, this trip provided an opportunity to see people during the raw stage before any preservatives have been added. The people I met, the friends I made and the extra special bonds I made will continue to be part of my life. You know who you are and I’m going to miss each one of you, especially your gorgeous smiles. To those who made my days off eventful, I say thank you! For the pancake run on one of my two cheat days, it was epic!!!

I had tears in my eyes when I had to part ways with Tiger, I believe 2.5 weeks is not long enough. I would have loved to stay longer as I think this was only an entrée at the Muay Thai Cafe!!!!
Tiger, you will see me again, and next time I’m coming for mains and dessert!

I aspire to inspire before I expire!
